Summer has officially arrived in Kuttawa, and with it comes the return of sunshine, annual events, fishing tournaments, and days spent on the water. As the weather warms and the lake comes back to life, our little town is ready to welcome another season of fun, relaxation, adventure and lakeside memories.

June 6: Fourth Wildcat Bass Tournament

The fourth Wildcat Bass Tournament Trail is coming back to Kuttawa on June 6 - launching from Mineral Mound Boat Ramp at 6:00am.

The first few tournaments of the season brought out over 150 total boats and 300 anglers all fighting for the BIG BASS and FIRST PLACE bragging rights! The three-fish limit was a of the last tournament brought in a nice weight of 15.95 pounds and Big Bass weighing in at 7.14 pounds!

June 27: Red, White & Barkley celebration

Celebrating 250 years of America!

Join us in Kuttawa, Kentucky for a fun, hometown celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary at Silver Cliff Beach Amphitheater on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from around 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

This free community event will bring patriotic fun to the lake with activities for all ages, including:

-FREE Kayak Rides
-FREE Foam Party
-FREE Water Ball Attraction
-FREE Watermelons and Hotdogs
-GIVEAWAYS: Sunglasses, Necklace Beads, Bubbles and American Flags
-The burying of a community time capsule
-A reading of “We the People”
-An official U.S. Army Hummer on site for kids and families to check out
-MORE to come!

We’re also inviting the community to help us make this event even more meaningful. Bring trinkets, pamphlets, or small Kuttawa or Lake Barkley items to place in the time capsule as we celebrate our hometown and mark this historic moment.

Come enjoy a fun, family-friendly afternoon on Lake Barkley as we celebrate 250 years of America with hometown pride, local memories, and community spirit.
